How Much America?

I have been reticent to adopt a public posture regarding the state of the nation as our government continues to portray authoritarian and fascist tendencies that oppress, as they vilify and subjugate people indiscriminately.

I have written often, over a lifetime of community, human service and transit policy subject matter expertise, regarding the dynamics of race, politics and urban communities. Increasingly, it has become more difficult to remain silent... though the primary survival imperative encourages me to play it safe.

How Much America, is the title of a spoken word narrative (penned in 2007). It was an insight from the portents, that lately, has been telling me, maybe the people will hear... this time:

How much America will you take?

While your leaders lie to you and you lie to yourself?

In the name of national security?

Forsaking progressive and untried solutions

To America’s problems and to world peace?

America dies because its leaders lie

We are disillusioned and ill informed

Our civil liberties steadily dwindle

As anarchy is kindled within our borders

Within our homes and neighborhoods

Bred by a mass electronic saturation of the people

With the opiate mind-numbing nonsense that is

Hyper violence, Hyper Sexuality, Hyper drive, Hyper speed

On laptops, Androids, smartphones, High Definition TV across the prairies.

America dies because its leaders lie

We have achieved a de-facto anarchy in the US of A

That is an unyielding state of arrogance and agitation

As daily drive-bys and shoot outs in cities across America

Kill scores and scores of black, Hispanic and even white youth

Maiming and killing innocent children and onlookers

As others in America arm themselves in the name of Christ, Armageddon and profit

At gun shows across the prairies

No shortage of teenagers committing mass murder

Or lack of serial killers

Sociopaths bred and raised by the dashed

Hopes and dreams of their parents

Bursting in air, under the rocket’s red glare

Of mediocrity and deteriorating quality of life

Parents controlled and fearful of their children

Illegal slave trades supporting child prostitution and other underground economies

And then there are the terrorists

I don’t know whose inhumanity and deceit to believe

Those abroad or ours, here in America?

Pharmaceuticals illegal for sale here at home

But infect people around the world with strains of disease

A nickel bag of crack or even weed can still mandates lengthy sentences for people of color

While congress has forgotten the cover up cocaine in air force hangars (that was Reagan)

And the privileged continue to sniff that powder without rebuke or penalty

Drug distribution targeted for urban areas in coordination with the cartels

Doctors prescribe mood altering drugs and hormonal cures

For how you feel and heal

While the medical industry blocks solutions in the last G7 nation

To not have real national health care

Because too many of our leaders don’t really care about how we feel and heal

How much America will you take?

While your leaders lie to you and you lie to yourselves?

In the name of a patriotic fellowship

That forsakes progressive and untried solutions

To America’s problems and to world peace?

America dies because it leaders lie.

Hypocrisy is kindled in our churches and houses of worship

Bred by preachers who put themselves ahead of their congregations

Bred by congregates who divide themselves in the name of Christ

Bred by a fear of damnation if I accept that another theology

Might also be a legitimate pathway to Peace!

Last time I checked

Cosmic Omniscience was the supreme authority and sovereign judge alone

But Pastor and Imam say only “our” theology can get us into Heaven

Boy don’t you know only Christ can bring that blessin’

Truth be told, I more interested in learning to see God in self and others

More interested in helping my sisters and my brothers

More interested in evolving humanity’s thinking and feeling toward the TRUTH that is...

Than I will ever be in the conventional and prescribed theology, theocracy

And intentional misrepresentations of history and the perpetual telling of HIStory!

America dies because its leaders lie

Under the guise of a democratic society

That divides and stereotypes at every opportunity

With a vehement racism toward folks who are black, brown, yellow and that Arab fellow

In the name of techno-security and fervent nationalism

We are all being grilled and now deposed.

But still the courts and pundits tell u

Racism isn't real while it's clearly a colonialist construct

In perpetual motion...

You know its subliminal, contextual, its clinical yet operationally blatant

micro-aggressive and incidental tendencies are imaginary...

It's not an embedded historical precedence and human pathology

That America and others, particularly the Zionists

Continue to deflate, deflect and deny

While everything off color is demonized, minimized and marginalized,

persecuted and considered traitorous...

So my hopes and dreams for all our children become more fearful

As ultra-religious extremism, revoked civil liberties and xenophobia

Rise to sit beside it: in the name of Jesus…

As if the four horsemen are drawing their swords

The Anglo-Saxon moralistic minority

Have forgotten the history of Roman persecution

When Christianity was beginning its dominion

But interestingly, they have remembered the Christian Crusades

They've remembered how to use religious war to strip indigenous peoples

Of their culture, land and resources

And now drop bomb on Islamic sovereignties in anti-Islamic colonialist fervor

To protect the oil and mineral rich interests of Haliburton, the Kochs

Blackstone and AI power interests across the globe

Successive generations of leadership in this country

Continue to hold us hostage to Hoover

In the name of a Judeo-Christian ethic and the old red, white and blue

That masks a fear of anything other than itself

We have utterly forgotten the genocide of the Jews

Was for the sake of Anglo Saxon and Germanic fears

of difference and intolerance

Medieval Europe, Adolph Hitler or Donald Trump

Same shit, just new demographics

We now defend and justify the racism America and Israel promote in the Middle East

And subsidize the genocidal triage of other world countries

While encouraging slavery here and abroad

We promote rabid xenophobia worldwide

As we destabilize our constitution and populist insist on reinforced borders...

Interestingly, Trump reigns after Dubya sanctioned illegal wiretaps on any and all Americans

After “O” certified detention without cause as a presidential perk

After a past Pope used 14th century rhetoric to promote 21st century religious war

And we now have genocide in Palestine and the Sudan

After genocide in Dafar

After genocide in Rwanda

After genocide in Bosnia and Croatia

After the Khmer Rouge, Vietnam, and genocide in Cambodia

DeFacto government sponsored Genocide in New Guinea, Grenada, Sierra Leone

Even New Orleans and Puerto Rico

And these are just a few examples in my lifetime

My God America, how much will you take?

While your leaders lie to you and you lie to yourself

In the name of a techno fascist order

Promoting itself in 2025 as a democratic best practice

With a carnal and depraved need for an enemy

The American Asili has declared

War on indigenous Natives and Africans

War on communism, war on poverty, war against hunger

War on crime, war against drugs, war against terrorism, war against immigrants

You tell me what is the operative word?

See the capitalist order to which we’ve ascribed

Is dying on the inside

And our heroes are just too tired to try

Our children too preoccupied to fly

And our leadership don’t care if we die

So they manipulate our fears

Using the social collective, our national psyche, rabid theology and AI technology

to guide a national psyche now intentionally mis-educated, schizophrenic and easy to control

Arrogant and unremorseful these men are

As they take up their armor

Program their disciples and operatives - conscious and unconscious

And continue long histories of coercive, illegal and regressive policies

These privileged infidels have honed their deceit and indolent practices

To stoke the fortunes and power

Of a few greedy warmongers

And a few greedy families for many successive generations now

These people are prepared to post traumatically stress your children and you

For the rest of your lives

While their charges promote drunkenness and debauchery at Ivy League colleges

And become presidents who reap the profits of war…
